Job DescriptionAbout the Role
Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager will ensure that all relevant aspects of a project are effectively scoped, all technical and commercial issues are identified, properly assessed and managed in terms of project output as well as collaborating with other Project Managers and team members to guarantee the project’s delivery. With your strong stakeholder and project management skills you will be helping to lead the coordination of all participants on the project, ensuring expectations are understood and agreed, program developed and closely monitored, key milestones met, and that delivery, performance and financial targets are achieved.
About You
- Project management, with proven skills in delivering project outcomes within specific timelines.
- Managing a number of project elements simultaneously, particularly infrastructure projects of a social, and/or cultural nature
- High level interpersonal and written communication, consultation and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to make judgements about and articulate issues at senior levels within the public and private sectors.
- Undertaking research and evaluating proposals from a commercial perspective.
- Project commercial and program analysis, as well as cost management.
- Tertiary qualified in construction management, engineering, building, or a project management related discipline and will have demonstrated management expertise in complex, multi-disciplinary projects. Additionally, exposure to Commercial or Construction Law will be well regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare project schedules, cost plans, risk assessment and management plans, and have responsibility for undertaking project formulation including budgeting and programming.
- Develop consultant and design briefs and manage subsequent engagements throughout the life cycle of the project.
- Provide policy and strategic advice to Government on the project, including writing high level project reports and briefs.
- Contribute to proactive project management to meet all time/cost/quality/scope milestones to deliver project outcomes.
- Manage tender processes in accordance with probity standards and monitor and manage contractor performance including contract administration.
- Manage important stakeholder relationships as well as having the ability to influence senior members of the division and negotiate positive outcomes.
