Your new role
As a Project Manager, you will be assisting in managing an end-to-end project that involves the maintenance and upgrade of a large-scale mechanical system. You will oversee all aspects of the project, such as planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, quality control, risk management, and stakeholder communication. You will also assist technicians, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the successful completion of the project.
Your duties will include, but will not be limited to;
- Leadand develop a Project Scope of all allocated work packages.
- Supportthe procurement of tenders and effectively distribute work packages.
- Overseethe execution of engineering work scopes by external consultants andContractors, ensuring that they are delivered safely, meet quality standardsand are completed within the specified time and budget.
- Evaluatethe designs submitted by external consultants and contractors together withproject stakeholders to guarantee the successful completion of the work scope.
- Offertechnical assistance during the manufacturing or construction phase to promptlyresolve any design or construction-related problems.
- Verifythat designs conform to applicable codes, practices, and specifications andcompare them against approved designs during construction.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the maintenance and engineering sector.
- Proven track record of delivering complex and challenging projects.
- Experience in applying Australian Standards for engineering design and reviews.
- Able to identify hazards and develop Safe Systems of Work.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
