Isaac Regional Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced full time Project Manager to join our Water & Waste (W&W) Directorate for a four (4) year full-time fixed-term contract.
Based in the Isaac Region, this position reports to the Manager of Planning and Projects and will contribute to the delivery of planning, design and construction projects within Water & Waste Directorate's Capital Works program. The position encompasses undertaking investigations and planning phases, as well as managing design and construction of projects, including finalisation. Additionally, it entails supervising external consultants providing planning, design, and delivery support to the directorate.
The scope of the position also includes identifying projects and advancing them through the project development process, from inception to concept design, while adhering to allocated timeframes and budgets, and to necessary guidelines and standards. The position aims to help minimise ongoing operations and maintenance costs associated with new and existing infrastructure investments through consideration of life-cycle costs at an early stage. Additionally, the role is expected to involve SCADA-related projects as required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline;
- Demonstrated extensive experience in planning and developing of water and waste civil, mechanical and electrical engineering infrastructure projects and programs;
- Demonstrated experience in program and project management using an industry recognised project management methodology;
- Experience in effectively tracking and managing project scope, timeframes and costs;
- Experience in managing and supervising staff as well as consultants and contractors;
- Proven ability to identify and mitigate asset and project risks
- Demonstrated understanding of asset management plans and principles.
- Previous working experience in a Local Government role is desirable.
- A Current QLD “C” Class Driver’s License and Construction Induction Safety Induction (white) card are essential
