Job description

Reporting to the Project Director, Women's System Reform, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of the Court Advisory Expansion project within the Women's System Reform program in the QCS Transformation Portfolio. You will also be accountable to the relevant Women's System Steering Committee Executive with stream lead responsibility for the supply of quality project products.

The overarching objective of the Court Advisory Expansion project is to design a scalable and integrated court advisory service that includes Southern and Northern Queensland place-based considerations to increase the provision of assessment and pre-sentence advice. Arising from recommendations made by the Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce, the project has a focus on women particularly First Nations women.
You will have exemplary experience in the human-centered design, development and delivery of frontline service models (with a focus on best practice) and critically examine comparative models, methodologies and frameworks from other jurisdictions to adopt best-practice approaches in QCS.
You will understand frontline service delivery in the criminal justice system including police, courts and corrections and have proven experience in developing services for targeted cohort.
You will be responsible for rapidly acquiring and applying legislative knowledge, policy and practice to analyse, research, and develop evidence-based design of a court advice service model including, but not limited to, workforce structure, practice framework, policy, procedure, service delivery standards, and performance requirements.
You will have a strong understanding of the over representation First Nations peoples in the criminal justice system and exemplary stakeholder engagement capabilities to work collaboratively with government and non-government stakeholders including police, courts, service sector and the judiciary.
In this role you will:
Provide effective governance, oversight and reporting of projects to ensure ongoing alignment with the Women's System Reform agenda, through the effective establishment and delivery of projects.
Lead and participate in coaching to uplift project management capability across the program.
Manage continuous improvement and integration of project deliverables to ensure ongoing alignment and user acceptance of women's system reform activities.
Ensure effective development, coordination and implementation of reform activities/initiatives based on prioritisation of projects to support the achievement of the Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce Outcomes.
Effectively assess and manage new initiatives by ensuring accurate and appropriate planning and prioritisation of activities to support the strategic objectives of the QCS Women's System Reform agenda.
Provide leadership and support across other project teams within the Program Management Office, and contribute to the leadership within the Transformation office more broadly.
Manage the effective implementation the assurance activities and risk management including escalation activities as they apply to projects and the overall program.
Lead and coordinate all project activities, including governance and decision-making frameworks
Manage preparation of, or contribute to, complex submissions and reports, plans, highlight reports, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence for a diverse range of stakeholders.
Provide expert advice to the Project Director, Women's System Reform, relevant Project Steam Leads and Deputy Commissioner, Community Corrections and Specialist Operations on project progress, trends, observations and risks related to the reform objectives.
Manage and direct the effective use and management of the allocate human and financial project resources to deliver services in an efficient and commercially sustainable manner.
Develop strong working relationships and effective engagements with key internal and external stakeholders regarding risks and progress of the Women's System Reform, including representing the Women's System Reform in a range of executive forums, working groups and committees to promote and advance QCS priorities.
Take an active role in communicating and translating the Women's system Reform agenda for key stakeholders, in collaboration with colleagues across the program.
Contribute to a culture which fosters collaboration, evidence-based decision making, innovation, and performance orientation, where employees are passionate about their work and take personal accountability for their actions.
