About the role
This is an existing role reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager – Western Australia. We are looking for a Project Manager to provide project guidance on a high-profile demolition and rehabilitation project in the power generation sector. Your primary responsibility is to deliver a complex staged demolition of a power station that will primarily be delivered by in-house capability of people, plant and equipment.
You will demonstrate a strong risk-based approach that manages key stakeholders, oversee technical methodologies, and are accountable for the overall cost, time and WHSEQ deliverables. A key requirement of the role is to demonstrate visible initiative at the project site to promote a positive safety culture, that also assists in developing careers for all of our McMahon employees.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Overall responsibility for the performance of the project based onsite at Kwinana, WA. The services include Demolition and Decommissioning, Asbestos Hazardous Remediation and Scaffolding. The project operates over a normal 6 day working week.
- Piloting and managing day to day operations via internal self-delivery and subcontracted services through the efficient allocation of employees, plant and equipment in line with Key Performance Indicators.
- Work, Health, Safety, Quality and Environment plans, reporting and driving a behavioural based safety culture.
- Financial Management including developing the work packages, monthly project forecasting, variation submissions and payment collection.
- Project Controls, Contract Management and Procurement in accordance with developed policies and procedures.
About You
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in project management within demolition and construction is preferred. Construction experience in high-risk environments in resource and/or industrial sites is mandatory.
- Experience in Project cost control budgeting, procurements and forecasting
- Excellent management skills and the ability to inspire others and create a great culture, managing a diverse team.
- Problem solving and decision-making abilities overlayed with a strategic mindset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with customers, contractors and stakeholders.
- Experience in using Microsoft professional suite and ideally experience with Project Management platforms such as Pronto XI, Procore, Aconex, P6 Primavera and Adobe (or similar) and a range of Microsoft Office 365 applications
