One of Australia's leading Federal Government departments are looking to engage an experienced Project Managerto oversee and manage all aspects of project management, ensuring alignment with the organisational goals and objectives. This role requires someone with strong leadership, strategic thinking skills and ability to drive successful project delivery. The role can be based out of Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth as they offer flexible working arrangements. The successful Project Managerwill be offered a 12 month contract with extension options.
The successfulProject Managerwill be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Assisting the Director in setting strategic direction and priorities for Project Management initiatives
- Overseeing the development and management of the project portfolios including prioritisation, resource allocation and budget tracking
- Establishing and enforcing Project Management standards, policies and governance frameworks
- Identifying training and development needs with the PMO and coordinating opportunities for skill enhancement
The successful Project Managerwill have experience in the following:
- Minimum 3 years experience in an ICT Project Management or ICT Project Management Office role
- Strong understanding of Project Management methodologies
- Ability to manage expectations and resolve conflicts to maintain positive relationships and support project success
- Experience conducting regular portfolio reviews to assess project status and risks
