About the Role:
The Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch leads, coordinates and supports programs and projects across South Australia, with a primary focus on the Murray-Darling Basin. The Branch is responsible for advising on and managing the sustainable delivery of River Murray water to the State including environmental water management.
An exciting opportunity exists for a Project Manager, Weir Pool located in Adelaide or Berri SA. The position is within the Environmental Water unit and will be responsible for project management, planning, monitoring and investigations, and advice to deliver the Weir Pool Manipulation program including driving implementation of a monitoring program and liaising with teams implementing the Sustaining the Riverland Environment (SRE Program). The role is responsible for leading the project management and procurement management of technical investigations and monitoring and evaluation activities, preparation of environmental watering proposals, as well as providing specialist advice to ensure successful implementation of Weir Pool operating plans within the allocated budget and time periods. This includes providing input to communication materials and activities, and significant engagement with key stakeholders; Traditional owners; and the wider community.

Contract:
Contract up to 30 June 2025.
Qualifications:
A tertiary qualification in natural resource management, hydrology, science or equivalent is highly desirable.
Special Conditions:
- Role may be located in Adelaide or Berri
- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- A current class “C” driver's licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
- Some out of hours work, inter and intra-state and remote travel involving overnight absences may be required.
Remuneration:
ASO6 $97,022 min - $102,626 max p.a.
