About the role
As the Project Officer (Deer), you will play a key role in protecting the natural assets found within the Region from invasive species. Your role will focus on the operational delivery of the Deer Control Program in Western Victoria, travelling across the Region to ensure effective delivery. You will be responsible for managing expenditure and resources allocated to the project and working with District staff to achieve shared project outcomes. You will be implementing project plans, supervising contractors, monitoring environmental project progression, liaising will local and regional staff, reporting outputs to the Deer Control Coordinator and implementing these projects on time and within budget. This supportive team works collaboratively and implements biodiversity projects to high standards with a focus on working together.
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience in the environmental/natural resource management sector
- Experience in project management and operational delivery of projects
- Demonstrated experience in engaging and managing stakeholders and contractors
