The Role and Responsibilities
Working as a part of the payroll team, this position is accountable for providing accurate, timely and efficient payroll services to staff. This role will also provide support to the Payroll Team and the wider Finance Team on various projects, providing guidance and expert advice to enhance operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Provide support to the Payroll Team and the wider Finance Team on various projects;
- Lead and support projects to enhance payroll processes;
- Participate and support implementation of system changes and upgrades as required;
- Ensure the accuracy of information within the CHRIS21 system;
- Review payroll processes, identify, and implement process improvement to ensure efficiencies;
- Prepare reports that meet legislative and internal requirements;
- Assist the organisation to meet its taxation, superannuation and other legislative and statutory obligations; and through processing and preparations of returns, related reports, forms and other documentation as required.
The Successful Candidate
Within the context of the role described, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following expertise:
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar role processing payroll for 500+ employees;
- Previous experience leading and supporting projects to enhance payroll processes;
- Experience in CHRIS21;
- Solid understanding of awards, legislation and other requirements impacting on payroll production in the sector;
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
