About the Role
WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist to join our client Rio Tinto located in their Perth office for a 12-month duration.
This is a great opportunity for an experience project controls or project management candidate to embark on a leadership role, managing a team of up to 8 planning and cost professionals. The successful candidate must be able to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at a portfolio level and build positive rapport with those they support.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide guidance and leadership to team members, as well as mentoring and training to develop resources.
Prepare, analyse, review and issue timely reports on the assigned Delivery portfolio including implications of changes to the Annual/Monthly plan and forecast.
Provide cost and schedule analysis support on the assigned Delivery portfolio and on individual projects as required.
Assist in the development and rollout of key project controls improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance to the project controls guidelines and procedures.
Facilitate portfolio/project review meetings and ensure cost and schedule management tools and systems are updated.
Maintain the integrity of integrated project cost and schedule reports.
Drive collaboration between delivery, cost, planning and contracts groups to ensure that project changes are identified and implications are well articulated and understood.
Skills and Experience
Good level Excel spreadsheet skills to verify & crosscheck data accuracy across systems.
Excellent skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning and organising the team to ensure deliverables are achieved in a timely manner.
Must be a self-starter to drive and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a tight schedule to meet reporting cut offs.
Be a team player, who can work closely with project members, cutting across different levels.
