About the role and where you will be working:
Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc. (SCCWA) have a range of properties that are used in the provision of our services this includes: Retirement Living, Residential Aged Care and Community Housing. This position will be integral in the successful delivery of refurbishment projects across our properties, through scoping works, procuring materials, and scheduling and managing trades to deliver the works onsite. As a not-for-profit organisation, SCCWA, seek to maximise our efficiency when identifying, determining and implementing the most effective solutions within our organisation. Delivering on our commitments to the SCCWA Board, this role is essential in ensuring that SCCWA are best prepared to deliver exceptional care to our clients and residents.
This position is located in our Central Office in Rivervale, with frequent site visits, and also offers a flexible working arrangement. This role comes with a company vehicle.
We’ll also be asking you to:-
- Quickly develop a sufficiently detailed understanding of refurbishment projects and procurement activities.
- Engage with the relevant stakeholders within our business to develop a keen understanding of their needs and requirements, via structured and consistent business analysis and elaboration techniques.
- Use SCCWA standard project management systems and processes.
- Establish Scope of Works for each refurbishment project.
- Create and maintain updated programming of works across multiple sites.
- Co-ordinate and oversee the timely delivery of projects, accounting for and co-ordinating changes to projects as they occur, ensuring on-time and on-budget project delivery.
- Maintain regular and accurate documented records of project processes, systems, project finances and performance to budget.
- Work with contractors and suppliers to ensure total, accurate and timely delivery of any contracts, project and procurement deliverables.
- Develop and maintain a project risks register for all projects, escalating and highlighting risks as they are identified. Work with key stakeholders to introduce risk avoidance and mitigation strategies.
- Use project documentation including schedule tracking, resource planning and reporting. This includes regular updates to line manager and internal project stakeholders.
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
- Extensive building & construction experience with a Builders Registration being well regarded, above all else experience is key.
- Hands-on Trade management experience, understanding appropriate workmanship\, standards and building tolerances.
- Experience in managing multiple small projects concurrently.
- Sound understanding and expertise of industry standard project management tools and applications.
- Exposure to work planning and cost evaluation, tracking and record keeping concepts.
- Advanced Microsoft Officeand MS Project and general computer package skills including the concepts of a Document Management System.
- Possession of a clean and current C class driver’s licence
