Asset Planning and Services is seeking a highly motivated Property and Leasing Officer to join their team.

As the Property and Leasing Officer you will coordinate the establishment, extension, renewal, variation, management and surrender of property leases and licences held by the Department, ensuring compliance with conditions. You will contribute to the management of the Department’s surplus to requirements properties, including site inspections and negotiating lease arrangements. The portfolio is varied and includes office buildings, former schools, vacant land, and some residential land.
As the successful applicant you will deliver subject-matter expertise on their assigned portfolio of leases and licences and provide advice, guidance, information and support to the Property and Leasing team as well as other stakeholders across the Department, lessees, licence holders and landlords.
The officer will also be required to travel to schools and other properties in undertaking the duties of the role.
Experience with property, facilities and lease management will be important. Enthusiasm, a skilled communicator, the ability to manage competing deadlines, a strong work either, the ability to achieve results are also important.
The Infrastructure Directorate is responsible for the provision of services to schools on security and emergency management, environmental services, mowing, cleaning and tree management. The Directorate also management of the Department’s Public Private Partnership and manages all aspects for a portfolio of leases and properties.

Your written application will be assessed against the following Selection Criteria: * Demonstrated experience in property lease and licence management and providing specialist and technical advice to lessees, licence holders and landlords.
- Demonstrated experience in property or facilities management.
- Demonstrated sound skills and experience in managing competing demands across multiple and diverse tasks including setting and achieving Branch and/or client priorities within agreed timelines.
- Demonstrated sound interpersonal and verbal communication skills including the ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, undertake consultation and negotiation, and provide effective and efficient client services.
- Demonstrated sound written communication skills including the ability to write clearly and succinctly.
- Demonstrated sound analytical and conceptual skills to provide innovative solutions to complex problems

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- hold or obtain a current Western Australian ‘C’ Class drivers licence
- undertake travel throughout metropolitan and regional locations as required
