About the role:
An opportunity exists for a driven individual to join our busy Property Team. The primary function of this role will be to provide advice and support to the Manager and Principal Coordinator with activities relating to Council's property management and property development.
Duties include:
Responds to all relevant property enquiries from staff or general public & provides professional & technical advice on property matters.
Assist Principal Coordinator Property in the effective day to day operations of property portfolio and property matters that includes the purchase & sale of property, leasing / licensing and renewals for land and buildings.
Assist in the negotiation and liaison with property owners, tenants & valuers on all property transactions, including acquisitions, sales, leases, licences & other agreements.
Assist in the administration of Council’s land registers, acquisitions register & finance systems, ensuring their availability for staff.
Prepare documentation and reports, including tenders, expressions of interest and council reports
Assist with the coordination of the leasing & licensing of Operational and Community land in accordance with specific purpose of the tenancy.
Instruct solicitors, valuers & other consultants as required in the conveyance & development process
Administer Contracts in relation to acquisitions & surplus property disposals in accordance to agreed service standards.
Undertake special projects and assignments as required.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have:
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Valuation, Conveyancing, Property Management or 5+ years’ experience in property and business activities;
Proven knowledge & understanding of contract administration, property & real estate markets & property industry trends;
Superior negotiation, organizational, time management & property administrative skills;
Demonstrated experience, knowledge & ability to interpret & apply relevant legislative requirements relating to land use & property matters, including business activities;
Demonstrated experience in property management (residential, retail & commercial); and
Experience in Local Government, including statutory background in land tenure, administration & development

Permanent Full-time, S0507, Salary From: $96K + Superannuation + Performance Bonus (up to 2% annual salary) + organisational bonus (up to $2K) + Aquatic and Fitness membership discounts
