Join a Dynamic Mental Health Emergency Department Team
We are delighted to represent our client based in Gippsland, seeking a passionate Mental Health Emergency Department Clinician to join their dedicated Psychiatric Emergency Care Team (PECT). This unique opportunity involves working both in the Emergency Department and providing crucial support through Mental Health Telephone Triage on a full-time or part-time basis.
As a key member of the PECT team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-standard acute clinical assessments, evidence-based treatment, and unwavering support to consumers facing significant Mental Health challenges and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct timely assessments based on risk, urgency, distress, dysfunction, and disability, utilizing the CMI (Client Management Interface) document.
- Embrace recovery-oriented practice using the Optimal Health Program, promoting holistic healing and well-being.
- Collaborate with consumers, carers, significant others, and the multi-disciplinary team to create comprehensive safety plans.
- Utilise the latest evidence-based interventions and foster collaboration with community organizations to meet identified needs.
- Monitor consumers' physical/medical state and align treatments with their Mental Health requirements.
- Offer targeted pharmacological/psycho-education tailored to individual consumer needs.
- Provide clinical work and brief interventions to individuals and their supportive carers/families.
- Facilitate information exchange with the consumers' General Practitioner and other relevant services.
- Ensure responsible rostering and leave management practices are adhered to.
- Record treatments and support in a comprehensive, factual, and sequential manner following organizational documentation guidelines.
- Participate in clinical supervision to foster personal and professional growth.

- Working knowledge of NSQHS standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player.
