Australian Fluid Handling is a leading supplier and manufacturer of bespoke Engineered Skid Packaged Equipment, Fuel Systems, Specialist Process Pumps and Gas Compressors. We have an opening within our newly established facility located in Archerfield.
The position is for Pump Fitter / Service Technician to join our growing service team.
This is a Full-Time Position with an immediate start. However, part time candidates will also be considered. AFH has a strong culture of training to enhance the skills of our team, allowing a safer working environment for all.
The candidate will report to the Queensland State Manager and work closely with all other staff in the team. There is an opportunity to work with a variety of Pumps, Compressors and Project Skids offering constant job stimulation and learning. The role will be mainly workshop-based but there may be some site-based work both locally and interstate depending on the level of experience and abilities.
The skills required for this role are:
- Qualified fitter & turner
- Min 3 years of process pump or gas compressor service experience, have good knowledge of various pumps or compressors and specifically on products within our portfolio.
- Knowledge of mechanical seals and mechanical seal systems.
- Previous experience with Laser alignment or balancing of rotating assemblies will be highly advantageous.
- Be able to read technical drawings.
- Be able to follow OEM manuals and choose correct parts from a BOM or pump drawing.
- Be able to work within a team and have the drive and attitude to carry out tasks outside the job description.
- Must be able to work independently and within a team.
- Attention to detail, and a very high degree of safe work practices.
- An added advantage will be to have oil and gas industry experience within Australia.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a fitter of pumps and rotating machinery
- Relevant trade qualifications
- Full Australian working rights and locally-based
Advantageous
- Understanding and experience with complex process pumps and compressors, specifically those within our product portfolio
- Experience in Oil & GAS / Petro Chemical Industries
- Forklift license (or willingness to undergo training & certification)
- Driver's License and a willingness to perform site works
