Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our Head Office here in Brendale. In this role, you will use your excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with people at all levels internally across the Woodland Shopfitting company and with our external suppliers. You will be working alongside an experienced Purchasing Officer and will report directly to the Factory Manager.
In this vital role you will be supporting the operational needs of the business, and using your attention to detail will be:
- Picking and labelling of all stock materials for projects.
- Labelling and allocation of all production materials and items for each project.
- Receiving & quality control of inward stock materials.
- Quality Control of project items received from contractors to be sent to finishing contractors.
- Quality Control of project items & allocation from the inwards delivery area to the Load Pile.
- Preparation of outbound subcontractor substrates and templates.
- Preparation of goodies boxes for projects.
- Assist with the preparation of items to be picked up by couriers and freight companies.
- Update Project Managers, Estimators on any material issues.
- Label all items returned from site and place into storage.
- Preparation of surplus production materials at the end of a project to return to suppliers.
- Update the Purchasing Officer of any low stock items.
- Always keep factory material storage warehouse clean and tidy.
- Assist with deliveries and pick-ups as required.
- Assist in the bi-annual stock take.
- Assist the Purchasing Officer as required.
You may also have the following additional desirable skills:
- Experience as a Procurement Assistant
- Construction experience and/ or background
- Forklift Licence
- Strong interpersonal skills with an accomplished ability to negotiate
- Ability to work autonomously and cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines.
- Analytical skills incorporating a good standard of numeracy.
- Full drivers’ licence
