The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Purchasing & Warehouse Officer to source materials and services for the operation of the site stores warehouse.
Reporting to the Supply Superintendent, you will work with suppliers and end users to deliver a continuous supply of materials. The Purchasing Officer’s responsibilities include processing orders, managing delivery arrangements, managing inventory, maintaining stores warehouse, and preparing reports (e.g., on orders and inventory).
The roster for this position is 5 days on 2 days off, 4 days on 3 days off, Residential only.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase inventory items for the Peak warehouse in accordance with procedure
- Co-ordinate Stores Inventory levels and settings
- Manage freight services to site
- Resolution of purchase order receipting to invoice matching
- Operate and maintain the warehouse if a safe and effective manner
- Assist in the analysis of obsolete inventory reports Undertake cyclical inventory stocktake counts
- Undertake weekly and monthly key consumable issues and tracking
- Make sound time management judgement in relation to prioritising work and meeting deadlines
- Constantly review and recommend improvements to Purchasing and Warehouse function to reduce costs.
About You
- Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar role
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors)
- Hands-on experience with purchasing software (Pronto would be an advantage)
- Computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel
- Understanding of supply chain procedures
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy of data
- Solid analytical and data gathering skills, with the ability to create reports and conduct cost analyses
- Forklift operation ticket.
