Our Jaurdi Gold Project in the Coolgardie region of Western Australia is going through an exciting transition with the commencement of a new mine in recent months. Our tenements cover the MacPhersons Reward project 5km south of Coolgardie, the Geko project 30km Northwest of Coolgardie and the Jaurdi project, including our 850,000tpa gold processing plant. Presently Beacon Minerals has a 4-year mine life over these existing projects, with exploration and acquisitions continuing to expand the company’s resource base.

The role:
Due to the continued growth of the Company, we have a great opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Purchasing & Supply Officer based at our Jaurdi Gold Project. This is a residential role on a 5:2 roster.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Purchasing
- Raising and monitoring purchase orders for materials/equipment;
- Managing the daily receipt and purchasing of goods, their storage and any required issue resolution;
- Ensure timely and accurate administration and maintenance of purchasing services, as well as workload management of the storage areas and purchasing’s needs;
- Negotiating with identified suppliers, providing authoritative, tailored advice and assistance to onsite staff, and reviewing and monitoring supplies and supplier performance to maintain adequate levels of supply on the (JIT) Principles.
Supply
- Implementing processes to maintain stock, undertaking stock takes and managing stock holdings;
- Provide assistance in ensuring activities are followed in accordance with HSE rules and regulations, including overseeing/advising on correct storage and handling of hazardous material, participating in waste disposal and maintaining associated equipment;
- Managing deliveries of freight and loading/unloading of trucks arriving on site, in line with chain of responsibility (Forklift licence & experience ESSENTIAL);
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, and business policy, procedures and standards;
- Participate in continuous improvement activities relating to purchasing and store/inventory practices and procedures;
- Analyse usage trends and patterns and generate reports to inform planning and purchasing decision making;
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of customers, stakeholders and suppliers to facilitate efficient delivery of goods and services to clients.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum (3+ years’) experience as a Purchasing/Stores officer and/or a similar type role;
- Current & Valid C Class Drivers Licence
- HRWL - Forklift Licence
- High level of customer service skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders and suppliers, along with the capability to clearly present information that is appropriately targeted to the audience;
- A high level of computer literacy, including experience using a purchasing and inventory management system;
- Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills in order to identify errors and issues and develop effective and evidence-based solutions to problems, including the ability to interpret data and identify evolving trends/issues
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug & alcohol screen.
- Ability to pass applicable security screening requirements (National Police Clearance etc)
