About the Role
You will support the Stores and Service Manager and Mechanics by sourcing and supply of a vast array of parts and accessories to internal and external customers to help us fulfill our commitments. You will identify the make, model and variations of light and heavy vehicles and automotive equipment, check catalogues or computer databases to identify and locate the source of required parts, order parts from external suppliers and calculate tax, discounts and retail prices.
Key Duties:
- Parts interpretation, Purchasing and Stores inventory control
- Proactive customer service with empathy in problem-solving and action parts enquiries
- Seek quotes and parts availability in a timely manner
- Process requisitions and delivery documents, allocate and price parts for workshop quotes and retail invoicing
- Participate and engage with supervisors and management in sourcing, stock control, auditing and stock-taking
- Administration and hands-on parts interpretation work and duties
The key team member we are looking for needs to have:
- Excellent computer skills (Be prepared to demonstrate)
- Analytical, methodical and strong mathematical ability
- A good understanding of the automotive/spare parts industry
- Understanding of heavy/on road vehicles, mining and general automotive knowledge is highly advantageous
- A current drivers licence
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and quality phone manner
- The ability to multitask and prioritise work loads
- Work well under pressure
