Your best efforts will contribute to our future success.About the Role:We are seeking individuals with a passion for analysis and development to support our television rating data delivery systems. Your role will involve optimizing business processes, improving application architecture, and making recommendations for system modifications. You will collaborate with other departments, prepare specifications, and develop programs. Additionally, you will test programs, analyze production systems, offer training sessions, and provide support. Other duties may be assigned as directed by the Director of Information Services or the Systems Manager.Responsibilities:- Utilize your application development expertise to optimize business processes and improve application architecture- Increase awareness of business processes, architecture, performance management, and organizational structure- Analyze specific systems and recommend modifications- Coordinate with other departments during systems studies and act as a development consultant- Prepare detailed specifications for system development or modification- Establish programming schedules and oversee programming activities- Design and develop large and/or complex programs- Test and debug programs- Conduct ad hoc analysis and validation of production systems and data- Prepare technical and user documentation- Conduct training sessions on system usage- Identify and improve documentation of current systems- Develop procedures and tools for quality assurance- Offer support, including on-call rotation, to the ratings data production environment- Perform other duties as directed by superiorsQualifications:- Commercial experience and solid knowledge in Python language- Familiarity with data processing and modeling- Exposure to AWS services and application development, including Athena, Glue, and PySpark- Knowledge and experience with Linux and bash scripting, as well as systems administration- Proficiency in SQL, database development, and design- Working knowledge of source control systems like Git- Experience with XML- Project Management skills within scope, quality, time, and cost constraints- Detailed knowledge of programming procedures, languages, object-oriented analysis and design, and software development life cycle- Stay updated on current technological developments and trendsSkills:- Analytical thinking: Use analytical thinking to solve ambiguous problems and construct models for a better understanding- Lateral thinking: Ask open-ended questions to generate new ideas and innovative solutions- Logical reasoning: Use rational thinking and evidence-based data to arrive at solutions- Systems thinking: Consider the broader impact of cause and effect relationships on business systems- Clear communication: Explain complex system-related issues in a concise and understandable manner- Effective questioning: Ask thought-provoking questions to uncover root causes of problemsPersonal Attributes:- Initiative: Work independently and proactively manage time and resources for project completion- Wisdom: Embrace diverse perspectives to find comprehensive solutions- Learning orientation: Commit to continuous learning and skill improvement- Results orientation: Strive for excellence and measurable results in critical tasks- Collaboration: Share ideas and information with team members to achieve common goalsTo apply for this job, click [here](https://jobs.lever.co/nielsen/cf615ce5-8062-4d9e-a3f4-69b748a04e22/apply)
