Troy Laboratories is a world-class quality manufacturer and leader in animal health pharmaceuticals and our products are 100% Australian owned and made. To support our continued expansion, we are currently looking for a QC Analyst to join our expanding Quality Control team. This is a permanent full-time position for a QC analyst/chemist with suitable experience in pharmaceutical QC laboratory. The role requires you to work from 7.00am to 3.00pm.
About the role
- Conduct testing on in-process batch samples, including pH, specific gravity (SG), and viscosity measurements.
- Perform routine pharmacopeial testing (USP, BP/EP) on both raw materials and finished products.
- Utilize wet chemistry techniques both manual and potentiometric titrations, Karl Fisher analysis, FTIR spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, conductivity and closure integrity testing.
- Provide support for the registration, testing, and approval of in-process samples.
- Familiarity with HPLC/UPLC methodologies is advantageous.
- Prepare and submit samples for external testing and communicate effectively with external testing labs.
- Coordinate closely with the production team to relay batch results daily.
- Adhere to regulations regarding the handling of S8 materials as per applicable Department of Health legislation.
- Manage retention samples and maintain proper documentation.
- Collect and organize test results, including data from external laboratories, and identify trends through data analysis.
- Input analysis data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and ensure compliance with GMP requirements for report creation.
- Investigate batch failures to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Ensure all analytical data meets the necessary requirements for report generation in accordance with GMP standards.
About you
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- A bachelor's degree in chemistry, pharmaceutical science, or a related field.
- Demonstrate a solid grasp of chemistry laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and analytical methods.
- Display keen attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills.
- Have the ability to multitask effectively and operate independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Exhibit excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are required.
