The Role
As part of our commitment to maintaining and improving our Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards, we are seeking internal applications for the newly created position of QHSE Officer.
Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing our QHSE practices to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. In addition, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation and execution of our One Planet: Engineering with Purpose sustainability strategy, which is our roadmap for accelerating our sustainability performance.
This is a full-time position based in Coffs Harbour, NSW.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage QHSE initiatives across the company.
- Develop, implement, and monitor QHSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Drive the implementation of our Spirax Group Safety Framework at our location
- Prepare, plan and facilitate internal and external audits with respect to existing and new accreditations (e.g. ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO18001, IECEx)
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Provide QHSE training and competency development for staff.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure all QHSE documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Support the Supply Chain Manager with QHSE-related reporting and administration.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility throughout the organisation.
