The Role:
We are seeking a detailed-oriented Quality Control Officer to join our team within our FeedSafe accredited manufacturing facility in Bomen (relocation assistance is available for this role if required).
The Quality Control Officer - Feed Plant is responsible for the QC testing of Vetafarm feed products using the NIR machine and appropriate QC inspection and testing of finished products for release.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform NIR testing of feed products to certify that the raw materials used in the Feed Plant are of the desired quality, and finished feed products meet the required nutritional specifications.
- Develop, implement and maintain FeedSafe practices and accreditation in the Vetafarm Feed Plant.
- Follow good manufacturing, good laboratory practices and FeedSafe regulations as per documented procedures.
- Cross-training to perform the appropriate QC inspections and checks of finished pharmaceutical products.
About You:
- Qualification in Animal Science / Veterinary Science / Food Science preferable.
- 1-2 years experience in a similar QC role within the pet food / feed industry is also preferable.
- Available to work full-time Monday to Friday.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to lift up to 20kgs.
- A flexible team player with good communication skills and a can-do attitude.
- Must have a current drivers licence and reliable transportation.
- A current forklift licence would also be an advantage.
