POSITION OVERVIEW

We at People Cast are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to work on a full-time basis at a licensed restaurant in Mackay owned and operated by our client.

We are seeking a candidate who is available to work days/nights and weekends and who can effectively help lead a team to produce dishes of consistently high quality.

POSITION SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

We are seeking a candidate who possesses the skills to perform the following duties:

• Responsible for the production and presentation of all products leaving the kitchen when on shift
• Assisting with the control of food costs and the minimisation of wastage
• Receiving and storing perishable and non-perishable kitchen supplies and equipment
• Assisting in the ordering of perishable and non-perishable kitchen supplies and equipment as required
• Assisting with rostering of staff as required
• Implementing menu changes in consultation with Senior Management and Directors
• Preparing, cooking, and presenting all menu dishes and dishes that meet ter special dietary requirements of diners as required
• Ensuring that all meals to be served to a single table are prepared and presented at the same time
• Ensuring that service times are kept short whilst preparation standards remain high
• Training junior kitchen staff and apprentices by seeking to constantly improve their knowledge and skills
• Ensuring that policies, procedures, and standards in relation to food quality, hygiene, workplace health and safety, and customer service are strictly adhered to.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

We are seeking a candidate who possesses the following qualifications, experience, and abilities:

• AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
• 5 years of employment experience as a chef in busy commercial kitchens
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to help lead a team
• Ability to manage time well
• Ability to work calmly under pressure
• Ability to work on a full-time basis

POSITION SALARY

$65,000 per annum (+ super)
