Qualifications & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in baking, preferably with sourdough expertise.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to work independently and in a team, with own transport.
- High level of physical fitness to withstand the demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, and lifting.
- Availability to start work in the early morning with a sense of urgency.
Outgoing, friendly personality with strong communication skills. - Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Attention to detail in food preparation, display, decorating, and cleanliness.
- Willingness to take direction and learn new skills.
- Experience with high-quality equipment preferred, but not required. Ongoing training and development will be provided.
Major Tasks and Duties:
- Ensure cleanliness of equipment and premises before and after production runs, in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Check quality of raw materials and weigh ingredients to prevent contamination.
- Perform various baking tasks including kneading, maturing, cutting, molding, mixing, and shaping dough and pastry goods.
- Prepare pastry fillings and monitor oven temperatures for optimal baking times.
- Coordinate the production process from forming to cooling batches of bread, rolls, and pastry products.
- Glaze buns and pastries, and decorate cakes with cream and icing.
- Operate machines for rolling, molding dough, and cutting biscuits.
- Maintain cleanliness of baking trays, tins, and other cooking equipment.
