We are seeking an experienced and creative Chef to join our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Our team is approximately a team of 10 kitchen staff, either fully qualified or undergoing apprentice training, seeking their next team member to join.
North Pier Hotel is one of the largest bistro pubs in Gippsland, and consists also of 70+ hotel rooms.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee kitchen operations, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Develop and execute innovative menus that align with seasonal produce and guest preferences.
- Manage food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills.
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage kitchen budgets.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness.
- Collaborate with waitstaff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
- Create and adjust dishes to accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests.
- Stay updated on food trends and industry best practices.
- Handle any kitchen-related challenges or issues efficiently and professionally.
- Contribute to the development of new recipes and culinary concepts.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef in a hotel or high-end restaurant.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
- Exceptional cooking skills and creativity in menu planning.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in food cost control and kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Effective communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and high-pressure environments.
- Passion for delivering outstanding dining experiences.
