About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Qualified Chef to join our professional team at Launceston Early Learning Centre on a casual basis. There will be an opportunity for the right candidate to take on a permanent role at one of our newly built or renovated services in 2025.
You will be responsible for preparing morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for children ages 0-5, and assist in planning a seasonal rotating menu designed to take into account children’s likes and dislikes, special dietary requirements and the Australian Dietary and Infant Feeding Guidelines. Experience and knowledge in providing high-quality, nutritious meals for children, while meeting individual health and dietary requirements is highly desirable.
The chef will also have additional responsibilities including, but not limited to, ordering, budgeting, adhering to the service food safety program and maintaining the requirements of our Move Well Eat Well Accreditation.
You must have:
- Hold a relevant cooking/chef qualification (Certificate II or III minimum).
- Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration – or willingness to obtain
- Regular availability and flexibility to work a range of shifts during our opening hours
