Edwardstown Primary School’s Out of School Hours Care is looking for qualified educators to join their team.
Located in a Heritage site in Melrose Park, 10 minutes south of Adelaide, the large service of 105 children aged from 4 to 12 years old, has a staffing ratio of 1:15. The service's focus is on maintaining an inclusive and welcoming environment for families through establishing relationships, supporting each other, guiding child development, and providing flexibility to follow child-interests. The OSHC service is currently rated as ‘Exceeding’ the National Quality Standard of Education and Care.

The (2) permanent part-time positions available are 20hrs per week, CSE Level 3.1, with current pay rate of $26.18 to $29.48 per hour. The positions accumulate Annual Leave, Sick Leave, and Long Service Leave, with Superannuation of 11% paid. Public Holidays are paid, although the service is closed. The service is closed for 2 weeks over the Christmas / New Year period, during which PPT staff access their Annual Leave or Leave Without Pay is taken (depending on accumulative leave balances).
A 6-month probation period will apply. After successful completion of the probation period, we are prepared to pay 5% above the award rate.
The services offered to children and families are Before School Care from 7am – 8:35am and After School Care from 3:10pm – 6:15pm during school terms. Vacation Care runs from 7am – 6:15pm.
Hours of work will be set according to the service’s needs within the time-frame of 6:45am – 6:15pm throughout the School Term. Afternoon availability is critical. Additional hours will be available during School Holidays (Vacation Care) and Pupil Free Days when the service is open 7am – 6:15pm.
Successful applicants will have a variety of responsibilities including: supervising children, programming activities, preparing and cooking meals, communicating with families, and general administrative tasks. Prior to commencement, successful candidates must have the following:
- An ACECQA recognized Qualification. Scroll list for South Australia: https://www.acecqa.gov.au/media/25366.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) certificate.
- Current Responding to Risk of Abuse and Neglect Training (RRHAN-EC)certificate.
- Current Providing an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting (including annual CPR refresher) certificate.
- Do Food Safely hygiene training certification.
