About The Role
This sweet opportunity is about partnering with our Safety, Quality and Environment Manager to support our employees and people leaders to uphold our workplace and food safety principles using a best practice risk based framework, championing safety and quality as culturally critical and a behavioural priority across our site.
We are looking for someone willing to work across our shift teams to expand the coverage of our safety and quality expertise and who will take a hands on and consultative approach to ensure a preventative focus.
As a 3 day a week role - Tuesday-Thursday - and scope to flex start time to deliver coverage into afternoon and/or night shift, this is a unique role that would suit an experienced HSEQ expert looking for that rare flexibility.
Responsibilities
This is a coordination role that relies on high autonomy, high ownership and high energy in the Quality and Safety space. This means:
- Role modeling, encouraging, coaching and supporting all levels of employees in their safety and quality obligations
- Supporting the development, implementation and continual improvement of safety and quality initiatives and programs
- Supporting leaders in non-conformance and Safety incident reporting, investigation and corrective action activities
- Compliance monitoring and auditing of plans, processes and procedures including plant inspections
- Facilitate problem solving and root cause analysis relating to safety and quality issues, issue resolution and consultations
- Drive corrective and preventative actions
- Facilitate safety and food safety risk assessments
- Assisting the development and delivery of Quality and WHS training and change management
- Reporting/monitoring
- Supporting the coordination of workers compensation, injury management and return to work processes
About You
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Food science/science degree/diploma essential
- Safety related degree/diploma or equivalent work experience desirable
- Solid experience in a similar role within a production environment, preferably within an FMCG/food industry.
- Proven track record in administering a HSEQ program and plan and/or components within such a plan
- Strong relationship building and influencing skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a cross section of people from senior/middle management to employees and other internal/external clients/customers.
- Highly developed organisational skills with a high level of PC literacy
- Self-starter with hands-on approach & able to work autonomously and within a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to a changing environment and to work with a high level of integrity, collaboration and confidentiality.
