About the Hospital
Delmar Private Hospital (DPH) is located in Dee Why, Sydney & is part of Macquarie Health Corporation, one of the leading providers of private hospitals in Australia. Macquarie operates 12 private hospitals across NSW and VIC.
In late 2020, DPH completed a $25m development of a new 80 bed rehabilitation/medical & surgical wing, including a new underground car park, hydrotherapy pool and cafe. A further development of 10 consulting rooms is currently underway.
About the Role
As a Quality and Safety Coordinator for Eastern Suburbs Private Hospital your key function is to coordinate our quality, safety, risk and compliance programs across the hospital. This role reports to the Hospital Director and works closely with the hospital leadership team and is supported by the Corporate Clinical Governance and Risk Manager.
Your role is to oversee the quality management systems and to provide support and guidance regarding quality, safety, legislative compliance and accreditation requirements. You will have a strong understanding of incident management and how to use this data to inform risk management.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate good skills in data analysis and report writing. You will be proactive and work in a self-directed manner to achieve your goals and support the Macquarie Health Groups vision of providing high quality, safe, patient centred care.
Key accountabilities:
- Quality:
- Ensure the integration of quality, safety, risk and compliance principles into day-to-day operations and service delivery.
- Manage the hospitals incident management system (RiskClear) and escalate concerns according to policies and procedures.
- Oversee evaluation programs and ensure this data is used to inform quality improvements that drive change and improve patient safety and experience.
- Patient Experience:
- Oversee the hospitals patient experience survey and ensure this data is used to inform quality improvements that drive change and improve patient experience.
- Risk:
- Oversight of the operational risk register, including review of existing risks, assessment of new risks and flexing existing systems as emerging risks are identified.
- Accreditation:
- Ensure hospital quality systems support both accreditation and regulatory compliance are always up to date.
- Patient Safety:
- Always advocate for the provision of patient-centred care.
- Model behaviours that support embedding a patient safety culture.
- RiskClear:
- Manage all elements of RiskClear including but not limited to, incidents, risk, feedback, document register, quality activities and other registers as required.
- Evaluation:
- Ensure all elements of the quality management system are evaluated annually to ensure they remain current and appropriate.
Essential
Registered Nurse, at least 3 years post graduate.
Proficient with data analysis and report writing.
Proven experience in quality management and/or involvement in quality initiatives that support current knowledge of quality improvement within a healthcare facility.
Desirable
An interest in/or knowledge of National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
Understanding and knowledge of rehabilitation.
