About the Role:
We have an exciting and newly created role of Safety Coordinator for New Directions Australia in our Sydney Head Office.
This challenging and dynamic role will see you being instrumental in supporting effective implementation of WHS strategies whilst providing specialist WHS advice and influencing positive behaviours throughout our Operations.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Experience in maintaining systems in accordance with ISO 45001
- Providing technical advice and guidance to all levels of staff on safety-related issues.
- Ensuring that all employees are trained in safety procedures, and monitoring compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist with company and site specific safety plans, ensuring compliance of onsite safety registers, toolbox talks, site induction training, as well as participation company safety meetings.
- Update safe work procedures and ensure that they provide appropriate information to operators on the operational requirements.
- Conducting regular safety audits, identifying potential hazards, and proposing solutions to mitigate risks.
- Investigating accidents and incidents, identifying root causes, and making recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Managing safety-related documentation, including incident reports, training records, and safety inspection reports.
- Manage & develop a strong safety culture and awareness
- Accurate completion and submission of workers compensations claim documentation including coordination of return to work and rehabilitation plans
- Participate in accident investigation procedures, incident processes and reporting.
We are seeking an individual who has the following skills and experience:
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in a similar role
- Knowledge in the WHS act and 45001:2018 certification
- Excellent computer literacy
- Excellent with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoints
