About Us
Founded in 1975, Game Farm is a 3rd generation Australian owned family business dedicated to growing, sourcing, and serving delicious and high-quality produce to our customers.
We supply game meat and game birds to retail supermarkets, specialty butchers, leading restaurants, five-star hotels, caterers, wholesales, airlines, and shipping companies throughout Australia and internationally. We are based across NSW and have four sites: Galston, South Strathfield, Lake Macquarie and Arcadia.
About the Role
As a Quality Lead, you will play a crucial role in championing QA across all Game Farm Operational Functions by advising and orchestrating external and internal audits within the Production and Distribution Departments to ensure the business adheres to all legislative and procedural requirements.
You will be predominately based at our Processing Plant located in Galston, NSW, however you will also be required to attend our Distribution Centre located in South Strathfield, on a fortnightly basis.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- To Lead, develop and mentor staff, establish best practise and a strong quality and compliance culture.
- To ensure that all managers and QC line staff are kept up to date to the changes in the regulatory, company and customer requirements. – standards, specifications, policies and procedures, CCPs and QCPs
- To oversee the verification of the production systems affecting food safety and quality – records and check sheets, ensuring that tasks are completed with the necessary records completed
- To undertake, manage and coordinate the duties and tasks associated with new product and process trials - setting up production and quality systems
Required skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Food Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food production and quality Management
- Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management and HACCP principles and application as well as Quality Management, SQF and HACCP principles and application
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the highest quality standards
- A reliable car to get to and from work, as there is no direct access to public transport
Desirable but not essential:
- Direct experience in the Poultry / Meat Industry
- Experience in Export regulations and required procedures
