Blackmagic Design has built some of the most talked about products in the industry.
From our global HQ Melbourne we create the world’s most advanced cameras, video editing products, video converters, routers, color correctors, film restoration software and waveform monitors for the feature film, post production and broadcast industries.
The majority of these products consist of multiple complex custom circuit boards with a significant portion of the Intellectual Property designed into FPGAs and embedded processors on these circuit boards.
About the team
The QA Engineer’s works closely with product management, engineering management, development and support to ensure that the products meet the customer requirements.
They specify, deploy and maintain test systems and testing environments including desktops, servers, network infrastructure and Audio/Video Systems.
This role
- Perform risk analysis to determine areas of high probable risk. Develop test plans and strategies, and schedule testing to mitigate risk
- Review product requirements and specifications to develop test plans and test cases
- Testing, identifying and diagnosing quality issues and errors in Blackmagic Design products to ensure correct behavior and quality standards through execution of test plans and test cases
- Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, testing and resolving product issues.
- Create and review technical documentation including user manuals, technical specifications and release documentation.
- Design and develop test automation tools and scripts, primarily written in Python
- Provides continuous feedback on Quality Assurance processes to increase their effectiveness
