Quality Assurance Officer

INF-021 QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER

This position has two primary objectives:

• Under general direction, develop/amend and implement Council’s quality assurance programs (includes Council’s Integrated Management System for road construction) to ensure Council’s Road Construction and Maintenance activities are assessed against a clear set of quality controls and requirements.
• Under general direction, assist Operational Programming Team with engineering tasks as directed by the Principal Engineer/Operations Manager.

Successful achievement of the primary objective will enable Council to maintain third party accreditation of its Integrated Management System (IMS) and Pre-qualification accreditation for undertaking Transport & Main Roads (TMR) projects.

Employment Status:  Full Time, Permanent

Award:                        Level 4 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017

Salary Range:            $78,864.00 gross per annum

Tell us how you meet or exceed the minimal entry level requirements listed below:

| Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities |

• Relevant experience in quality assurance and their application to road construction and maintenance activities.
• Practical experience in and the ability to develop, monitor, implement, and evaluate Quality Assurance policies and procedures for road construction and maintenance projects.
• Awareness and understanding of health, safety, and environmental risk management systems.
• The ability to work under general supervision, either individually or as part of a small team.
• Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of people at all levels.
• Ability to develop, implement and adhere to Council’s policies and procedures

| Essential Education/Qualifications |

• Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Quality and Risk Management qualifications such as quality auditing practices or equivalent.
• General Safety Induction Certificate (Construction Industry White Card).

| Essential Licences |

• Possession and maintenance of a Queensland ‘C’ Class Driver Licence.
