About the role

Laing O’Rourke is currently recruiting a Quality Coordinator for our Rail Operations Business Unit.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of the Quality Plan and the development of quality related deliverables.
  • Provide advice/support to the Project Quality Manager on quality-related matters.
  • Assist Engineering team with preparing / reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists and work packs to ensure quality requirements are captured.
  • Assist the Project Quality Manager with developing and implementing quality programmes to raise awareness of Quality requirements and address quality risk and issues.
  • Coordinate closure and ensure completeness of all Quality records.
  • Ensure quality issues are registered in the Corrective Actions Register or Non-conformance Report and register as required.
  • Investigate all non-conformances with efficiency and ensure debriefs are conducted and corrective actions are closed out.
  • Actively monitor the project Corrective Actions and Non-conformance Registers to ensure timely close out and measure the effectiveness to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Maintain up-to-date register of calibration certificates and ensure inspection, measuring and test equipment is within calibration or removed from use.
  • Observe safe systems of work relevant to your work area and report potential hazards or near misses.

About you

  • A minimum of five years’ construction / engineering project experience
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Standards (e.g. ISO 9001:2015), Industry Codes and Procedures
  • Knowledge to interpret drawings, specifications and quality records
  • Strong Negotiation and Influencing skills
  • Previous experience with Project Document Management Systems
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certificate of Attainment in Quality Management or equivalent
  • Internal Auditor Qualification & Lead Auditor Qualification
