An exciting opportunity is available (6-9 months fixed term maternity contract) for a proactive energetic individual to lead our dynamic Quality team. This role focuses on working with our quality team to embed and improve our food safety culture throughout the business, whilst ensuring a quality management system is maintained to deliver safe, quality food products that meet legislative and customer requirements.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain the company's Food Safety, SQF, Organic and Quality Management systems, ensuring ongoing certification.
- Lead and manage the Quality Team and create an environment to support effective communication and interpersonal relationships, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Encourage teamwork by working alongside team members.
- Liaise with external auditors and certification bodies as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the QMS is effectively integrated and drives great outcomes in all aspects of the business.
- Identify areas of non-conformance and work with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Hands-on support to the Operational Team to maintain the Food Safety and Quality Standards compliance through training, mentoring, and auditing.
- Support product development and innovation by monitoring all process steps to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
About you
- Have proven leadership and mentoring skills through leading a team or a project and are ready to take that next step into a management role.
- Are passionate about Workplace safety, food safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Experience in the dairy or food industry within a manufacturing environment would be highly regarded.
- Ability to record, manage, analyse data and achieve targets and goals.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams at all levels.
- Have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Are Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Can balance conflicting priorities across the business.
- Proven experience managing quality systems, conducting internal audits and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Have 2+ years' experience in a Quality position.
- You are familiar with SQF, HACCP and Organic certification standards.
- Lead by example through participating in activities that foster a continuous improvement culture.
- Ability to translate technical information into simple concepts/meanings for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Have excellent problem-solving skills and ability to reach outcomes.
