Form of workOur client, a global tech company, has assembled a talented and diverse international team to create the world’s first scalable quantum computing system. Their full-stack approach involves exciting innovations from physics on the quantum plane to providing global quantum services.
This engineering program strives to fundamentally change the world of computing, to help solve humankind’s currently unsolvable problems.
They are looking for 2 x experienced Mechanical Engineers/Quantum Hardware Engineers to assist with this effort in the Sydney lab, based at the University of Sydney campus in Camperdown.
We are looking to fill 1 x Junior position and 1 x Senior Position.
Contract: 12-months. 5 days a week, 8 hours per day
Location: University of Sydney, Camperdown
Rate: $862 - $1,028 per day + Super
Equipment: Laptop and accessories provided
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Hands on fabrication, characterization and measurement of semiconductor and/or superconductor based devices for quantum computing and/or qubit devices
- Collaborate with Hardware Engineers to determine development path for advanced electronics control system
- Low and high-frequency noise characterization techniques
- Superconducting device development including rf/microwave components
Skills and Requirements:
- PhD in Physics, Applied Physics or Electrical Engineering related field
- 5+ years experience in fabrication and measurement of solid state qubits or associated components technology such as quantum limited amplifiers at cryogenic temperatures
- Understanding of advanced control electronics, including rf/microwave circuits, and FPGA based systems
- Strong programming skills for experiment automation and analysis
- Keen experimental insight with an ability to devise and focus on key experiments.
- Senior Role: Ability to drive a small team to complete experimental tasks, with an interest in mentoring junior staff.
