Quarry Engineer opportunities in Guam

Smithbridge Guam Inc has been operating on Guam for 30+ years and with a workforce in excess of 370 and with operations including quarry mining and processing, ready mixed concrete production, precast concrete manufacture, crane hire and heavy transport, building construction and civil and mechanical contracting.       

Guam is an idealic island location in the North Pacific – 30 miles long x 8 miles wide, with a permanent population of approx. 160,000 people, a major base for the US military and a destination for approx. 2 million tourists per year.  

We are currently looking for an experienced Quarry Engineer with a motivated, can-do attitude approach to their work. 

About you:

• Hold a minimum Bachelor's degree in your field of Engineering or related field
• Prioritizes safety with a commitment to our safety culture
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance
• Proactive problem-solver and high level of attention to detail
• A current Australian Passport with ability to obtain a E-3 (US) Temporary Non-Immigrant Worker Visa

The role:

Your tasks will include (but not limited to):

• using ground-surveying techniques to check the site’s geology
• drilling earth and rock samples for lab testing
• building up computer models of a site and its deposits
• making recommendations on how to proceed
• managing the day-to-day running of quarry operations
• overseeing technical staff
• producing progress reports

Opportunities on Guam can range from 3 months to 12 months, to suit individual requirements and can include for families to transfer to Guam or visit during that time.
