Job description

This is an opportunity to secure yourself a permanent Radiation Therapist position in a highly respected Comprehensive Cancer Care Centre, establishing your career within a team who make a big impact on the place where they work.
Tasmanian Health Service
Radiation Therapist Level 1_2
Permanent Fulltime
To be Tasmanian is to value quality over quantity. We create, preserve, and protect the unusual. With passion and perseverance, with an embrace of our history and our stories, we quietly pursue the extraordinary. Could you be Tasmanian?
In Tasmania you will be encouraged to be yourself, to learn, to grow and to develop meaning in your work. You will have a powerful connection to your patients and your colleagues, and the community will encourage your success. Our isolation helps drive a culture of creation and human connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing.
This is an opportunity to secure yourself a permanent position in a highly respected Comprehensive Cancer Care Centre, establishing your career within a team who make a big impact on the place where they work.
Here you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breath-taking coastlines, National Parks, and incredible fresh produce crafted by locals. After a hard day at work, you don't sit in traffic for an hour. You decompress with a relaxed walk through your beautiful home city, or you put on your boots and tell it to a mountain.
We offer an inclusive and rewarding place to work, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practice that sees our Radiation Therapists as a key component of the broader multidisciplinary team who guide patients through the entirety of their treatment journey. We provide External Beam Radiotherapy, seamless Varian planning to treatment using 2 Matched Truebeam Linacs and the Statewide High Dose Rate Brachytherapy Service.
The Role
Carry out planning and treatment of patients with x-rays, electrons or radiation from sealed sources as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist.
Associated duties include patient care, general and technical administration.
Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
The Team
The team you will be joining is a friendly and motivated team who exhibit a strong culture of collegiality. You can expect to enjoy a high degree of cooperation and cohesion both within the Northern Cancer Service and more broadly across the hospital's various specialities. The Northern Cancer Service remains focused on our values of integrity, innovation, collaboration and compassion.
Further information on the Northern Cancer Service is available on our website:
