Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA)…Your chance to work with the best!
Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects and to be a part of something that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
About the Role
The Asset Opening Manager leads a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate and facilitate the transition from construction to operationalisation of new above-ground assets within the Queensland Rail network as part of Cross River Rail construction. These assets include new and refurbished stations, stabling yards and track configuration changes.
You will foster a program management and governance framework which allows adherence to requirements, progress, risks and issues to be monitored, reported and managed appropriately. The position will work closely with internal project teams and key external stakeholders including Queensland Rail, Department of Transport and Main Roads and our construction delivery partners to create a collaborative and transparent environment that ensures alignment between agencies and achieves successful outcomes.
Reporting to the Operationalisation Manager, the successful applicant will work from our modern corporate offices in Brisbane’s CBD with work from home flexibility. This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until December 2025 with probable extensions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the coordination of the Asset Opening program including management of any change with stakeholders and governance channels.
- Establish and maintain consistent management tools and reporting outputs for governance and the wider Asset Opening program.
- Facilitate multi-agency Asset Opening Working Groups, ensuring robust governance and decision-making processes.
- Actively identify and address risks and issues related to asset operationalisation and acceptance, developing and executing mitigation measures.
- Engage with key stakeholders, to ensure effective communication flows and adequate stakeholder input received.
- Prepare correspondence and deliver briefings on planned or unplanned asset changes to executive management and Minister’s Office.
- Monitor changes in the construction schedule that may impact planned Asset Openings.
- Conduct continual improvement exercises and lessons learned activities post-Asset Openings.
About You:
- Proven experience in a senior role supporting public transport asset operationalisation in a complex multi-agency environment.
- Success in developing, implementing, and continuously improving program management, governance, and reporting frameworks for complex public transport infrastructure programs.
- Ability to proactively identify risks, issues, and opportunities as well as developing effective mitigation strategies.
- Advanced stakeholder engagement capabilities, negotiating and influencing positive project outcomes in a collaborative environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including creating detailed briefing notes and correspondence for senior management and stakeholders.
- Experience in leading a high-performing team, managing tight deadlines, and adapting to changes in expectations and priorities.
