About the Role
This role is a 12-month opportunity in our Finance team, that support a range of rates related services that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan, including:
• Debt management, processing of refunds, remissions, change of ownership and concessions
• Maintain and ensure an accurate, efficient, and effective rating database that complies with legislation and with a view of continuous improvement.
• Land Divisions and Changes of ownership
• Provide rates administrative assistance within the Department and broader Organisation
• Complete customer enquiry and general administration tasks including inquiries and research.
• Assist with rates modelling for annual budget process
• Perform day to day receipting of bank transactions.
About You
To be successful in the role you must have:
- Proven experience in delivering exceptional customer service.
- Certificate III in Business, Finance, or other relevant discipline.
- Sound level of communication skills including the ability to convey and impart information in an easy-to-understand format both verbally and in writing.
- Proven experience in debt recovery and understanding of legal and court recovery procedures.
- Ability to identify operational problems or trends, question practices, and contribute to the implementation of appropriate solutions in an innovative and resourceful manner.
