Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic team player to join SCC!

This role is responsible for undertaking general reception, administrative and office support duties for the State office, in a professional, efficient and proactive manner. 

The receptionist is generally the first point of contact with residents, clients, their families and visitors and as such, this hybrid role is crucial for maintaining an efficient and welcoming front office environment while also supporting our marketing and communication initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for marketing and communication.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensure all visitors are greeted warmly and directed to the appropriate person or department.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and mail distribution.
  • Support the creation of marketing materials, including writing copy for brochures, newsletters, and social media posts.
  • Maintain and update customer relationship management (CRM) systems with accurate customer and prospect information.
  • Assist in creating and distributing internal communications, such as company newsletters and announcements.
  • Monitor and update the company’s social media accounts, ensuring timely and engaging content.

This role requires a versatile individual capable of balancing administrative duties with marketing and communications tasks to support the overall goals of the organisation.

What you'll bring?

  • Demonstrated experience working in an administrative and/or reception role within a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Courteous, with high level of professionalism
  • Positive and collaborative team player
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

Southern Cross Care (Tasmania) Inc. requires that the following compliance checks be completed prior to application for this role.

  • Satisfactory national police check within the last three months
  • Tasmanian Working with vulnerable persons registration with NDIS endorsement
  • Satisfactory evidence of working rights in Australia
