ABOUT HUGHES ENGINEERING

We're locally owned & operated, based in Kalgoorlie - Boulder with a strong emphasis on project scope of work deliverables, including tank refurbishments & new builds, structural steel remediation programs, steel fabrication & welding, fixed plant maintenance & repairs, construction; asset protection (Industrial Coatings Division) as well as workshop fabrication offering a huge variety in the scope of works we deliver.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Recruitment and Onboarding Officer to join our administration team which will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our business by assisting the Administration Manager to attract, recruit and welcome the best talent.

This position requires a strategic & forward thinker with a keen eye for identifying potential candidates who not only have the required prerequisite skills and experience but also align with our company culture and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Administration manager to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract high - quality candidates
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from job posting, screening, interviewing, drafting employment offers and onboarding once hired including initial site access mobilization and induction compliance
  • Engage potential candidates through different marketing strategies including social media, networking events, industry events, apprentice & tafe networking as well as different job board postings
  • Collaborate with Senior Management, Supervisors and other Administrators in the team to understand overall hiring needs and ensure timely filling of vacancies
  • Assist in the design and execution of an engaging onboarding program that facilitates smooth integration of new hires into the overall company culture
  • Maintain and update recruitment metrics to track and report on recruitment effectiveness as well as recruitment tracking / database management & reporting (including candidate pipeline & tracking) 
  • Continue to remain up to date and provide advice Senior Management of recruitment best practices, industry trends and benchmarks, and overall advice for improvements to existing processes and systems
  • Other duties as assigned by the Administration Manager

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrated experience as a recruiter in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes and best practices
  • Understanding of the resource and / or manufacturing and / or construction industry, particularly mining would be preferrable
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment whilst also being able to self-manage your own workload and achieve desired outcomes autonomously 
  • Previous use of systems such as INX, simPRO, Xero, Rapid Global and intermediate excel & word skills preferable.
