About the Role
We are currently seeking applications for a permanentpart-time (22.5 hours per week) role of Redress Support Service Counsellorlocated at our Eight Mile Plains venue.
The purpose of this role is to provide a high standard of counselling and case management to people who are survivors of institutionalised child sexual abuse.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Conducting thorough client assessment and intake processes, including risk and needs assessment, to provide relevant information and determine appropriate interventions or referral pathways based on client presentation and need
- Identify, assess and plan for the client’s support needs utilising a case management approach, including development of appropriate applications for lodgment to the National Redress Scheme.
- Identify and coordinate client access to a range of appropriate services.
- Where appropriate, apply a collaborative case management approach, involving internal and external stakeholders, in order to ensure that the case plan and interventions are appropriate to client needs.
- Develop, implement and monitor case plans for clients
- Deliver brief appropriate trauma-based counselling and/or crisis interventions which are linked to lodgement of an application to the National Redress Scheme
Please note that the position holder may be required to work an evening shift (12pm to 8pm) weekly, with some flexibility needed in order to meet business requirements
About You
To be successful in this position, you will
- Possess a relevant undergraduate qualification in the social or behavioural sciences
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex cases
- Demonstrated experience in crisis and trauma counselling in a variety of settings, for example individuals, couples, children, young people, families, and groups.
- Demonstrated use of, or the capacity to quickly acquire, a working knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to victims of crime.
- Have knowledge and understanding of case management approach in supporting client

The salary being offered is between $80,963.63 to $87,125.54 per annum pro rata, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation. We also offer our employees as follows:
