Take a future-oriented approach to legislative and operational policy development and stakeholder management, to deliver end-to-end reform and strategic policy projects.
Focus on the escalation of major blockers to Director-General and the Resources Leadership Team to push the boundaries on our strategic reform agenda.
This role will include:
- Strategic policy development, including leading departmental engagement with and influence of whole-of-government policy issues, providing the Director-General and Minister with strategic advice regarding implementation of the department's reform agenda.
- Leadership and collaborative contribution to cross-agency actions and emerging policy issues that support the implementation of Government's objectives for the community: For example:
o Land administration modernisation to support Queensland's Big Build and infrastructure and housing outcomes;
o critical minerals industry development as part of Queensland's transition to low carbon economy;
- Strategic coordination, leadership and coherence to key policy development and reform activities undertaken by the department,
- Directly advise the Director-General on strategic and operational issues relating to the department's strategic reform agenda.
- Provide reform agenda leadership, bringing stakeholders together to ensure achievement of outcomes.
- Formulate and implement frameworks and processes that facilitate implementation of strategic initiatives, including change management and capability uplift, across the department.
- Program delivery and oversight on policy reform including the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan and the Queensland Critical Minerals Strategy setting consistent and whole of department approach to implementation and governance and ensuring the critical factors of program and change delivery and capability uplift are managed and executed effectively to ensure delivery of the relevant programs.
- Keep the department at the forefront of new policy, service solutions, and change and program management, by monitoring trends both inside and outside the department and impacts to stakeholder relationships.
- Provide executive oversight to Directors on their effectiveness in, ensuring projects are clearly scoped and approved/championed at the highest level, thereby enabling whole-of-Department operationalisation of resulting process re-engineering, regulatory simplification, and resourcing alignments.
- Participate and contribute to the department's strategic leadership team - Board.
- Lead a financially sustainable, high performance, workforce by implementing a right-sized organisational structure to deliver key outcomes effectively and efficiently within agreed budget allocation.
- Other duties as directed and required.
