The Opportunity
The Regional Manager leads a team of 5 SME in geology, mining and quarry development which attains and maintains the necessary licenses and approvals to operate for 100 sites (quarries and concrete/asphalt plants) and which manages quarry reserves and resources. In more detail the team is responsible for;
- Overseeing all property planning matters for sites within the region.
- Securing quarry reserve life and scoping viable reserve extensions for short-life quarries
- Ensuring resources and reserves are understood through geological assessment
- Driving standardisation by developing policies, procedures and systems for Planning and approval services
- Influencing and negotiation with regulators
- Developing and managing budgets and programs of work
- Managing strategic planning input into the acquisition, divestment, negotiation and documentation of freehold and leasehold interests.
The position combines people, program and resources management. The role requires a strong understanding of property, planning, development, operational management and environmental compliance. A background in property/site related development projects is essential and experience in extractive industries would be ideal.
