About the role

  • Maximum Term Contract (2 Years), Full Time
  • La Trobe Street, Melbourne office
  • $160,000 (plus super and salary packaging)

Role Purpose

The Business Development Lead will play a key role in developing and delivering a diversified organisation-wide revenue strategy, with specific accountability for securing investment and funding for priority projects. Business and funding development will involve working with senior leadership and practitioners across GSANZ to identify and qualify prospects, write compelling business cases, applications and tenders, and build GSANZ’s network of valuable supporters and partners in government, business and the not-for-profit sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • The resource mobilisation of GSANZ’s system-shifting initiatives developing clear acquisition plans for raising targeted funding and investment and executing successfully.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Audacity Centre, Ecosystem Enablement, The Office of the CEO, Client Services, Good Shepherd Institute and Corporate Services to ensure a coordinated approach to business case development, through to submission of compelling proposals, submissions, tender responses and presentations.
  • Identify and qualify funding and investment opportunities and deliver high quality proposals, tenders, submissions and presentations that deliver sustainable funding and investment to support Good Shepherd’s impact.
  • Support the establishment of the Audacity Centre as a specialised service within the organisation to foster creativity, experimentation, and innovative ideas, products, and services to address overlooked or underserved client/market needs and opportunities.

About you

  • Formal tertiary qualifications in fundraising, Business Development, management, tender and grant writing or similar disciplines.
  • Superior writing skills with demonstrated ability to develop written proposals and reports for funders and investors.
  • Demonstrated experience and a track record of successful outcomes in philanthropic, corporate and government grants and investment.
