Job description
The role of Regional Manager plays a key role in the effective and efficient delivery of high-quality mental health services in correctional centres. This will be achieved through the day to day and long-term strategic management of a regional psychological and allied health workforce.
In this role you will:
Provide leadership and operational coordination of psychological service staff across multiple locations.
Ensure accountable, outcome based, high quality psychological practices are consistently provided.
Monitor Psychological Services and workforce management across nominated locations to identify work standards, priorities and allocation of resources.
Participate in the development and delivery of a quality assurance framework that supports practice development and robust decision making aimed at delivery of psychological and disability services.
Manage the provision of high level and clinical advice, support and training to correctional centre and community corrections staff involved in psychological and disability services.
Contribute to Agency psychological and disability services activities, including maintaining a working professional knowledge of best-practice principles for the management of offenders.
Contribute to the provision of high-level operational analysis, strategic direction, policy, and management of practices relating to the ongoing management of offenders.
Participate in high level liaison with external and internal stakeholders.
Collaborate effectively with other commands and correctional centre management in order to achieve strategic outcomes and to meet operational priorities.
Maintain a clinical caseload commensurate with Manager responsibilities and/or provide expert advice on the appropriate management of complex/challenging cases.
Provide expert consultancy and advice on psychology practices to senior psychologists, psychologists and other operational managers.
Provide clinical supervision, support and mentorship to senior psychologists and other identified staff.
Act as a central point of contact for operational consultation and liaison with senior management in relation to correctional psychology issues.
Lead, mentor and influence a multi-disciplinary team's development and training needs while fostering a work environment which delivers a skilled, motivated and productive work team committed to organisational objectives.
Lead and influence professional development opportunities and strategies for operational staff in the field.
Manage compliance with corporate governance, budgetary and human resources, workplace health and safety management practices and associated legislative frameworks.
