Our client is a rapidly expanding and recognised food (Poultry) manufacturer with a trusted brand, creating high quality products loved by Australians for decades. With an enviable brand presence, they are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join their manufacturing facility, based in Regional Victoria.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Manager, your responsibilities will include;
- Effectively manage the team using coaching, developing, delegation and recognition to ensure they have the capability to meet performance goals.
- Manage and monitor operational areas performance levels, ensuring they are meeting Food Safety and Product Quality KPI’s.
- Implement and monitor strategies to reduce staff turnover and ensure labour cost base is productive, efficient, and cost competitive.
- Driving a safety-first culture, 5S and better machine uptime.
- Improve engagement and culture through leadership, training and being a good mentor for the production team.
Your BackgroundIn order to be successful in this role you will have;
- Experience with leading and engaging a team, with the capabilities to create a collaborative and positive working environment - Poultry/Meat/Seafood processing experience is highly desired.
- Ability to coach and develop others, monitor and measure performance and provide direct feedback.
- Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives through implementing strategies - Experience with a wide range of CI tools such as 5S, kanban and Kaizan.
- Ability to analyse data, understanding production and team performance to improve efficiencies, such as meat dollar per kilogram targets.
- Excellent communication with the ability to communicate cross functionally to build strong and effective relationships and influence key stakeholders.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to solve problems.
