About the job
Are you an inspirational leader, with a background in strategy who wants to work for an innovative and forward-thinking ASX listed company? Our company is a cutting-edge global leader in the Logistics & Supply Chain industry which makes a genuine difference to the environment and champions sustainability.
Aligned with our global transformation strategy, we are evolving our business across the AMETA (Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, Turkiye and Africa) region. As a result, this newly created opportunity within our Regional Executive Leadership Team (ELT) has become available. The Region contains a remarkable diversity of cultures, business models, competitive landscapes, governance & regulatory climates and of products and services to a wide range of customers in both mature and emerging markets. In this role, you will shape, develop, evolve, and articulate a compelling, focused strategic direction that increases the value of CHEP to customers and investors and for our employees.
You will have significant influence on the future of the business by being an integral part of its executive leadership team, leading the annual strategic planning process and facilitating its implementation rapidly and effectively across corporate, regional and local levels. This role will preferably be based in Australia and reports directly to the CEO, AMETA. Significant travel will at times be required. We offer flexible/hybrid working. Key accountabilities will include:
- Determine the priority focus areas for the business across short-, medium- and long-term time horizons
- Partner with the regional ELT and heads of corporate functions, to ideate, define and execute their strategies, consistent with global priorities
- Visibly and actively lead, in alignment with corporate, the transformation and digital agendas of the business across the Region.
- Solve problems and remove impediments to the realisation of that strategy to support the AMETA business growth
- Raise the business’ sights to ensure we remain focused and accountable for delivering longer term goals as well as short term imperatives
- Identify global internal and external trends and developments and articulate how these should inform and direct changes to strategic priorities
- Drive the focus of the organisation on high priority goals, facilitating and participating in rigorous decision frameworks to achieve optimal outcomes
- Lead and continuously improve the annual strategy planning process, including periodic leadership strategy reviews
- Guide digital transformation as an active member of the Global Digital Leadership Team.
We value innovation, collaboration, and curiosity, and we are looking for someone who shares these values and can lead the strategy process across the region
What will ensure your success:
- Extensive experience across strategy roles in large global organisations. A background in consulting with a strong track record of applying strategy principles in a corporate environment would be preferable
- Exposure to emerging markets would be an advantage
- Familiarity with digital, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, FMCG, and/or grocery retail will be highly valuable
- Effective management and leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and guide action across a diverse team
- Demonstrable ability to build long term, trust-based relationships including at very senior levels
- Credibility across strategic, financial and operational discussions at C-level and Board level
- Entrepreneurial, aspirational, and practical, with a proven record of setting and delivering challenging strategic goals in a corporate environment
- A deep and nuanced understanding of business strategy and what it takes to develop, implement and evolve this successfully.
- Sophisticated problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to structure highly complex and ambiguous problems and find and articulate actionable and practical solutions
